Petit à petit, ils se rendent compte que leur petite panouille horrifique a finalement un potentiel assez costaud, et nos deux lascars ont eu bien raison d’y croire : lorsque REC est sorti en 2007, ce fut un phénomène sans précédent ! Plus de 30 millions de dollars au box-office mondial, « 80 minutes de pure trouille » selon Le Parisien, « une pure bombe » selon le Mad Movies, ou encore « une trouille de tous les diables » chez Libé, avec un plan-séquence d’anthologie de plus de 22 minutes. Comme tout succès, ce chef-d’œuvre fit l’objet d’un remake américain ainsi que de nombreuses suites, mais ce documentaire se cogne comme d’une guigne de la récupération du phénomène. Ici, on est au cœur de la fabrique, dans les secrets d’alcôve du tournage et ces anecdotes plus dingues que les autres, racontées par Balaguero, Plaza, Botet et consorts.
